2025 Swim to Win Summer Plush Edition
- June 14-15, 2025
- Rohnert Park, California
- Short Course Yards (25 yards)
- Full Meet Results
While most of the serious swimming in June is done in long course meters, at a more local level, yards swimming continues to go strong – and last weekend, Ayden Tan took advantage to set a new 11-12 National Age Group Record in the 100 yard IM.
Tan, 12, of San Ramon Valley Aquatics, swam five new lifetime bests as part of his record-breaking effort. That included a 53.28 in the 100 IM. That took almost six-tenths of a second off Michael Andrew‘s old National Age Group Record of 53.86 that was set more than 13 years ago in April 2012.
That was the last 11-12 yards record for Andrew, who was one of the most prolific National Age Group Record setters in American history. He still holds one 11-12 record in long course, the 50 fly.

yall remember back in the day when MA was actually relevant and not just a meme? what a time
So glad for this kid and his family. What happened to them at Sharks with the team folding unexpectedly was so sad. Looks like they landed on their feet.
My 9yr old was pumped to see Ayden crushing the NAG!
Geeze that’s fast!
Man, the Tans sure club jump a lot. I’m guessing this isn’t their final destination
Isn’t this their 3rd club in a year? I’m having a hard time keeping track
I believe the Crow Canyon coach shut down the club suddenly this year so their swimmers had to move and find new clubs. At San Ramon, SRVA is the only other option I think
SRVA is the up and coming option. They qualified 3rd combined at Far Westerns, just a couple of points behind the combined Crow/PLS team. Good talend joining SRVA and his new coach. Training is more demanding as well and it shows in the results.
SRVA is great. I’m wondering how long they stay there is my point.
Well, if you were to believe what Joe Natina told his swimmers at PLS, he kicked the Tans out of the team.
Talk about ruining one’s credibility because his ego could not handle their departure. I guess modeling integrity in front of teenage swimmers is not a priority for some.
I wasn’t at that practice and I’m guessing you weren’t either. And I’m also guessing the Tans will be on a new club within 18 months
I was at that practice. If you weren’t all you have to do is ask any of the elite swimmers. We all heard it.
I’m just curious who is forcing you to be on PLS? There are plenty of great clubs in that area with plenty of great coaches.
Surprised they didn’t go to PLS to follow their coach
They don’t like the training, it’s a ton of yards.
PLS training doesn’t work for everyone, we only see the people it works well for on swimswam.
I guess they wouldn’t have been able to swim for Matt Paige, huh? Yeah, that makes sense thinking about it now
Hilarious about yards and PLS. PLS have 4 athletes going to Worlds, World Juniors, and WUGs, all qualifying in different events, and none of them in distance. I very much doubt it’s from a ton of yards, as you say. I’m sure it’s got to do with phenomenal coaching staff, Steve, Joe, etc.
Out of the 4 athletes 2 don’t even train at PLS or just joined (Liberty and Teagan). It’s funny how quickly swimmer talent is used to talk up a program.
And I’m sorry, Ayden Tan has trained at SRVA how long? 2 months. Teagan has been with PLS on and off since last year…
If by on and off you mean visiting a handful of days in a year, you are being disingenuous. Definitely more off than on. In fact she was visiting Crow during xmas too.
Nice attempt at a strawman argument. Nobody in here claimed Ayden’s success is exclusively due to SRVA training. But he has reached new heights at SRVA. The training definitely hasn’t hurt him.
lol I talked to Ayden and Mikayla about this specifically.
It doesn’t matter if 4 athletes from PLS are going to international competition this year. That doesn’t mean PLS training works for everyone…It doesn’t.
Besides two of them don’t even train there and Luka and Tim count as athletes who train distance.
Michael Andrew never catches a break.
Sad.
